What is cinema?

To me, cinema is a motion art with a particular purpose. Personally speaking, I prefer to define it from the perspective of the French avant-garde movement, where art is considered a social reformation or healing process to break taboos, challenge stereotypes and enlighten visions, awaken souls, tap the untapped portions in minds, to see the unseen and to hear the unheard.
